Welcome to North Country

North Country Montessori was founded in 1984 by a group of dedicated Northwoods parents seeking the best method of education for their preschool children.

Our new 3,000 sq. ft. facility is located on 2.5 wooded acres, and was specifically designed by a Montessori architect. The school building includes many child-height architectural features such as separate entry and exit doors, a reading loft and low windows and sinks. The child-sized architecture gives children the sense of equality and empowerment, and reinforces the basic Montessori principles of fostering self-confidence and self-esteem.
